| Our client purchased a site from a 3d party and was going to introduce new functionality and enhancements. Main revenue source for the site was banner ads and sponsored listings. Payments were processed manually and required a lot of work to control sponsored listings payments. Source codes of the solution turned out to have been generated by a rapid development tool and were not human readable while original project file was missing. This made impossible using that tool again to make modifications to the site. Since the site was a very popular resource with a lot of visitors, implementation of new functionality shouldn’t have interrupted site operation in any way. |

After careful analysis of the code we decided that some parts of the solution should be rewritten to implement all changes planned by new owner. The entire solution was re-tested and scripts for automated testing were created. All parts that were replaced or added were carefully tested prior to an upload on a production version to make sure they work smooth with the old modules. For all new modules our team created all necessary documentation. All modification and updates were implemented with little to no system downtime.
As a result, the solution was integrated with a payment gateway and PayPal, sponsored listings mechanism was improved, new types of listings and coupon system were introduced as well as a lot of smaller enhancements. |

All numerous enhancements increased a number of paid listings, made solution easier to support, while generating extra revenue to the owners. |
