How module works
There are 2 different ways available in the module from which store owners can decide how they want the module to work: Manual mode and Automatic mode
Manual mode
In “Manual” mode, customers will see a button on the cart page that enables them to send the cart to either their email address or nominate another. The email contains details of the products, prices, and the product image. A “Finish my order” button on the email will result in the checkout loading with those products pre-added to the cart.
In a B2C setting, the Manual mode is a great way for customers to send their desired products to friends, family, etc to prompt them to buy them - it’s like a super-efficient wish list. But even just sending the cart to themselves is useful in many scenarios.
In a B2B setting, the Manual mode can help with internal authorization workflows and the need for one person to find the products, but another person to buy them.
Automatic mode
Automatic mode is mainly of use in a B2C setting. In this mode, the cart email is automatically sent when the customer arrives on the cart or checkout page. For logged-in customers (where their email address is already known), then it is fully automatic. For guest customers, the email is triggered in the background once they type in their email address to the checkout process. So if they choose not to complete the checkout, then they already have an email waiting for them which they can complete.
Fast checkout is assured
The cart emails are not time-sensitive, so if the “Finish my order” button is clicked days/weeks/months in the future, then the products are still added to the cart (as long as they are still available, of course) - and if the user already has some products in their cart, then the products are added to those already in the cart. We also ensure that they don’t get duplicates or more quantity than required.
