The User Types module is a good solution for those, who want their phpFox community to better match the main theme of the site.
Normally we run a community, which is devoted to some specific theme (niche, idea). It can be community for musicians, real estate, gamers, sports, bikers or whatever. In common, these guys like to belong to a specific user type, which lies directly in their sphere of interest. Anyone who once tried to organize user types, include them into memberships, set membership privileges, access knows that it not an easy deal.
So, go ahead with our new User Types module if you:
- need user types to include memberships;
- want to differentiate members’ privileges within and access to various features one User Type, depending on free or paid membership;
- "Hide Membership" feature – if enabled, the membership will not be displayed on the subscribe page, only admin can add members to the membership;
- want your members to choose a User Type and Membership directly during Sign Up and don’t waste time filling in general unnecessary fields;
- want to have each User Type and Membership a unique list of fields on public Profile, plus ability for members to have a consistent and more effective Browse section.

1. Ability to create User Types with descriptions and icons.
These User Types can be anything you want, like "Agents and Brokers" or "Singers, Dancers and Actors" or even "Jedi and Siths" 
2. Attach/Add Memberships to specific User Types.
This will help you to be more flexible with giving your members more freedom and choice, as one User Type may include more than one Membership in it. So it becomes like a real Membership Group, uniting several memberships, each with its own settings.

4. Add/Remove Custom fields to/from Sign Up
If you don't want some definite custom fields to bother users during Registration process, now it can easily be achieved with this feature. 
5. Mark Custom fields as optional or mandatory on Sign Up.
You can define which info from the Registration form you really need to be filled and which one - a user's option. 
6. A trial period was introduced for registering with paid memberships.
Administrator can choose a period for all paid memberships, during which members will be able to get acquainted with your web-site and with the abilities, which this paid membership gives them. 
7. A special page, where user can view which memberships belong to which User Types.
Choosing User Type and Membership at first time may be confusing, so this page will help your users get acquainted with what they are choosing and how they will benefit from it. 
8. Add/ Remove User Types to Browse page, as a separate sub-menu..
Members won't have troubles of finding each other any more, as the User Type sub-menu on the Browse will filter all users, belonging to the chosen User Type. 
9. Add/Remove Custom fields to/from Browse section.
Adding to the great filter, each User Type section will have a set of custom fields, specific only to it. 
10. Searching members by relevance.
The best results will go first with a percentage of matching. 
11. Create custom fields (text areas, text strings, checkboxes, radio button, drop-downs).
This will help Administrator to create a more appealing and functional Registration and Profile forms. 
12. Relate (Add/Remove) Custom fields to specific Memberships.
Users won't need to share the same custom fields any more. Each User Type/Membership may have its own set of custom fields. Every Profile can be fully customizable. 
13. Hide Custom fields from public Profile.
If you want some fields be visible only to Administrator, or want to hide some useless standard fields from members Profile, this feature will help you. 
14. Unite custom fields (text strings, checkboxes, radio button and drop-downs) in Field Groups.
Create a multi-field section, devoted to a specific theme. Make it more informative.
15. Choose location for text areas on Profile (left or right column).
Profiles for different User Types can be made even more custom. 
16. Import functionality.
After installing our Module, your members won't loose their personal info, as the User Type Module can import all user data and work with it. 
17. Backups of the Module data.
You can be confident, that important user data is safe.
