Google AdWordsTM is an online content-targeted advertising service that allows advertisers to create and run keyword-specific ad campaigns on a cost-per-click basis. However, it doesn't provide some of the tools needed to control the campaign closely.
Using Google API, we have developed the Campaign Watcher solution for City Different Marketing, LLC. Campaign Watcher allows for closer monitoring of an AdWords campaign on a paid subscription basis, namely:
- it controls conversion costs by pausing a campaign when they exceed the pre-set value, and reports about it via e-mail or text message
- sends e-mail or text messages with campaign stats up to every hour, showing each campaign's spending, number of conversion, and cost per conversion
- reports when a campaign is paused
AdWords Campaign Watcher was launched in 2009 by City Different Marketing, LLC, which is owned and operated by Pam Neely, a Google AdWords Certified Professional who manages over $3 million in PPC ad spending each year.
AdWords Upload Script
Our client heavily uses Google AdWords. Using Google API we've developed an application that bulk-uploads Google AdWords Campaign data to Google account(s) from MS Excel files to simplify our client's processes.
The application uses SOAP as the transport protocol and has an intuitive visual interface to facilitate data uploading.
The application allows for uploading an unlimited quantity of files. It logs into the Google API using the specified account and password details. Then the script registers campaigns, groups and keywords. The input data for the script is provided in CSV files that user creates in MS Excel in a predefined format and the script exports all the data (campaigns, groups, negative keywords, keywords, text, URLs) to the corresponding accounts.
Thanks to the logging engine, already uploaded items won't be uploaded again even after the script is restarted. Once the script has finished, all failed entries are collected and the application offers the user to download them for subsequent correction. The user can open the file in Excel, modify and re-upload.
PerfectDomains.com is an online marketplace that allows its members to park and sell their domains, and earn commission for displaying PPC (pay-per-click) content links. Visitors and members of Perfect Domains can browse the catalog to choose and buy domains/websites they need. The interface is tailored to help members manage large quantities of domains and websites.
The solution includes the following functionality:
- Members can assign domains to different categories, add keywords to the page.
- Support system facilitates communication between site visitors and members with Perfect Domain's administration by means of support tickets with predefined topics and priorities;
- Members can customize their domain page by choosing from predefined layouts, color schemes, and manage the content of the pages.
- Predict Payment Functionality for members to estimate the current month's earnings based on previous history;
The application earns money by placing PPC content of the parked domains pages, and shares commission with the members. The system is tailored to use the different sources of the PPC content.
Real Exams provides IT professionals with variety of practice exams and certification preparation kits from different vendors. The materials include Questions & Answers, Online Exam Engine, Study Guide, Audio Files and Realistic Labs.
AITOC's solution enables users to shop for needed materials. The payment process is carried out via payment gateway site so the credit card data is kept confidential.
The solution allows for storing purchased products in the Current Products section. The products stay active for a period of time specified by the admin and upon expiration are moved to Expired Products section. Admin is capable of managing discounts for extending the validity terms as well as other discounts.
We've enabled product protection that requires users to pass an authorization process. The products that do not require authorization can be downloaded from the website immediately after the purchase is complete.
The affiliate program was developed separately and integrated into the application. Affiliates have restricted administrative access that enables them to manage their accounts, see the stats, etc. Real Exams admin is enabled to manage affiliates' accounts and view affiliate stats.
BOSEL.com was developed as an international online classifieds website for local metropolitan markets around the world that would allow users to post and browse classified ads relevant to their region.
In this solution every country or city is represented as a subject domain or website. This ensures better navigation and allows for separate customization.
The solution includes the following functionality:
- Multilingual support that loads corresponding languages for users who enter country domains;
- Admin is enabled to manage rights and permissions for various user groups that range from visitor to moderator;
- Internal Message system for registered members;
- Support Ticket system for registered members;
- Users can flag irrelevant ads. This helps keep the site free from spam and inappropriate content;
- Each category has its RSS feed that users can subscribe to.
At the moment the solution is functioning for one city only.
Caregivery.com is an online portal of information, tools, and resources that make hiring an in-home caregiver easy and stress-free.
After 3 months of programming and extensive testing we have developed an easy-to-use customizable solution ready for further extensions and handling multiple websites with similar functionality, and have improved site design.

iNET Interactive is a growing media content management agency. The company hired AITOC to for a major project of building an engine from scratch for them to be able to operate and administer multiple article sites, the first being DevPapers.com. Due to certain circumstances project timeline was 3 weeks.
To make the client's time to market the least possible yet develop a high-quality solution, we suggested implementing the project in three phases. Within three weeks we delivered the major functionality and the site went live. It took us another three weeks to complete the rest of the project.
With the engine that we've developed iNET Interactive can easily create new websites of similar nature in days, and so they did by launching Pixelpapers.com, SEOpapers.com, Hardwarepapers.com and Hostpapers.com.
SMBCMS (Small Business Content Management System)
We've developed SMBCMS to have a good platform for our web development projects. SMBCMS's architecture was designed for easy integration of new functionality: new modules can be added and existing modules can be modified if needed. We've developed an automated license tracking and updates/upgrades distribution system. Source code was protected by third party tools.
Apart from development a great deal of work for this project was the compatibility testing. We wanted to create a product that would work on as many different versions of PHP and MySQL as possible and our clients can use shared hosting providers to host their sites.
Solution's user-friendly interface allows editing web pages of a site easily and intuitively. Any person familiar with computer basics can quickly create website navigation, edit pages content, upload files and images, create contact forms, etc.
Our client requested development of a powerful B2B platform for Asian market with multilingual interface and ability of interactive communication for people speaking different languages.
For this solution we've used parts of SMBCMS, our content management system. From SMBCMS AsiaKingWorld inherited the multilingual support and WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) content editor, while product catalog, registration and notification system were developed from scratch to fit specific customer requirements. We've also integrated WorldLingo products and services for automated translation into the solution.
Our work resulted in a powerful B2B platform with a unique online multilingual interface. All information in the system is available in 5 languages. The system can translate company and product information, inquiries and e-mails automatically to any of the 13 languages set up in it. Users who speak different languages can talk to each other online and translation occurs in real time. This solution removes language barriers between businesses from different countries.
Our client who serves US and Canada floral market with industry-specific software and hardware wanted to address the growing need of retail florists to expand their Internet presence. AITOC was to develop an online shop customized for the need of retail floral market and integrated with industry standard software such as Visual Ticket.
We used SMBCMS as a basis for the solution and combined its ease and flexibility with the advanced functionality specifically tailored for floral industry.
With this solution we've enabled our client's employees to manage pre-orders and delivery, discounts and special offers, view detailed statistics and generate reports and manage a multidimensional catalog. The solution also enables our client to have a full control over design management: he can change site structure and page layouts, styles and has a built-in seasonal template manager that automatically changes site design depending on the floral season.
Search engine friendly URLs of the whole site, including the catalog, guarantee a complete indexing by major search engines and higher listings in search results. We?ve also integrated Visual Ticket, a MS Windows based shop management application, into the solution.
With this solution our client extended the number of services and products, increased customer loyalty and revenue per customer.
WebHostForums.net is a growing community of hosting professionals. Its owner turned to AITOC to boost the traffic from search engines. To increase search engine exposure we modified vBulletin software to use search engine friendly URLs. As a result all threads and posts were enlisted in major search engines and that gave a significant increase in the number of visitors and member registrations.
The site was purchased by iNET Interactive Company that was planning to further monetize it. At that time the site had simple search functionality that allowed visitors to search for domains that are deleted or placed on hold. The site was very popular but generated little to no revenue.
All information on deleted domains was stored in files instead of the database to minimize server load and search time but that put some restrictions on further clusterization and use of different data sorting. At that time there were around 4 million domains in the system. Our task was to make this site database driven, port all information from files to the database and add new functionality without impacting the search performance.
We have replaced most of the original Perl scripts with PHP scripts. The site now uses MySQL that was optimized to handle large number of data and sustain an increase in the number of domains. We've performed many tests to tune up queries and database structure for fast performance. We also added e-mail alerts, membership subscriptions and new types of searches and combinations of searches.
The site started to generate revenue within days of the new version launch. Now it has information on more than 44 million deleted, placed on hold and pending deletion domains, gives users more search options and flexibility.
Our client had purchased a site from a third party and wanted to introduce new functionality and enhancements. Banner ads and sponsored listings were the main revenue source for the site. Payments were processed manually and required a lot of work to control sponsored listings payments. The source codes of the solution have been generated by a rapid development tool and were not readable to humans, and original project file was missing. This made it impossible to use that tool again to make modifications to the site. Since the site was a very popular resource with a lot of visitors, implementation of new functionality shouldn?t have interrupted site operation in any way.
After careful analysis of the code we decided that some parts of the solution should be rewritten to implement all changes planned by new owner. We re-tested the entire solution and created scripts for automated testing. All parts that were replaced or added were carefully tested prior to an upload on a production version to make sure they work smoothly with the old modules. For all the new modules our team created the necessary documentation. All modification and updates were implemented with little to no system downtime.
The solution was integrated with a payment gateway and PayPal, sponsored listings mechanism was improved, new types of listings and coupon system were introduced as well as a lot of smaller enhancements. AITOC's enhancements increased the number of paid listings, made solution easier to support, while generating extra revenue to the owners.
Hosting Catalog (former ISPcheck) is a hosting vertical Pay-Per-Click (PPC) directory that was developed by AITOC several years ago. After the site launch our task was to ensure seamless and uninterrupted operation and to implement all changes dictated by the fast changing internet environment.
Current Hosting Catalog has very few in common with the first version. During the years of support the website changed several owners, moved several times from one hosting provider to another, changed design and all those years AITOC was there to provide support to site owners. We've implemented a lot of minor changes, like click protection algorithms, reports and statistics gathering. Hosting Catalog now offers traffic partnership and affiliate opportunities to any webmaster, has more payment options and is integrated into a network of iNET Interactive online properties.
The system proved its efficiency over the time. The site is still a reliable source of leads to hosting industry and data for those in need of hosting.
