Configuration

General

Go to STORES → CONFIGURATION → AITOC EXTENSIONS → SEO → GENERAL to configure the extension.

In the 'Use Slash For URLs' field, you're able to choose 'Yes'/'No' from the dropdown menu.

XML Sitemap

XML Sitemap is a .xml map of your website, and the map will show a list of the page that the visitors can access.

Product

In the Product tab, you can configure settings for the product links.

Here you can specify Frequency of updates (hourly-daily-weekly-monthly). As a rule, it used to set at least weekly for the product pages.

Also, set the Priority of importance. As a rule, it used to set higher values (e.g., 0.08 - 1.00) for homepages, product info, etc.

To bring more organic traffic to your web store, use 'Add Images to Site Map' option:

Category/CMS/Other

For these tabs, the configuration options are the same:

Here you can specify Frequency of updates (hourly-daily-weekly-monthly). As a rule, it used to set at least monthly or weekly for category pages and CMS pages.

Also, set the Priority of importance. As a rule, it used to set average values (e.g., 0.04 - 0.07) for category pages and CMS pages.

Autogeneration

In this tab, please 'Enable/Disable' the Autogeneration. Moreover, you can configure options such as: 'Frequency', 'Start Time', 'Send Email If Error'.

Site Map File Limits

A sitemap file can't contain more than 50,000 URLs and must be no larger than 10 MB uncompressed. If your Sitemap is larger than this, break it into several smaller Sitemaps. These limits help ensure that your web server is not overloaded.

HTML Sitemap

This HTML sitemap configuration contains Store Views, Categories, Products, CMS Pages, while all of them can be shown in the footer of your page. Here see the settings:

After configuring, don't forget to click on

Site Map Grid

Site maps are set up in MARKETING → SITE MAP BY AITOC.

Here all site maps are displayed.

Also, on this handy grid, you can find:

  • ID
  • Filename
  • Path
  • Url
  • Store View
  • Last Time Generated
  • Action

In the Action column, you can

Click on to create a new map.

New Site Map Settings

Field Specification
Filename Enter a name. Example: sitemap.xml
Path Specify an appropriate path. Example: "sitemap/" or "/" for base path (path must be writeable).
Store View Set the Store View from the dropdown menu.
Generate Choose to generate All or Custom (Products/Categories/CMS Pages/Custom Links):

Note

After configuring, don't forget to 'Save' your settings.
